A new sport was born in the city of Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Jose Angel García, a young entrepreneur, requested a new name and identity for the basketball team for the city of Tampico. Tampico is a city located in the gulf of Mexico, only 315 miles from the borderline with Texas, and well-known for strong hurricanes that strike the area each year.
